Attorney Biography

Ethan Hazel maintains a multifaceted litigation practice defending personal injury and property claims. He represents businesses and individuals in complex litigation, including construction defect, toxic tort, and wrongful death cases.

Known for his ability to uncover, develop, and brief intricate legal arguments, Ethan often secures favorable outcomes for clients. He has successfully briefed and argued numerous summary judgment motions and motions to dismiss, utilizing novel legal theories backed by thorough research into statutory and case law, as well as legislative history. Ethan also excels in achieving client goals through arbitration and mediation.

Ethan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he received the Excellence in Advocacy Award. During law school, he served as a legal extern for U.S. District Court Judge Mark D. Clarke and as a law clerk for the Federal Public Defender. Post-graduation, Ethan practiced as a criminal defense attorney, gaining extensive courtroom experience and vigorously defending clients in state and federal courts. He joined Rizzo Bosworth Eraut as an associate attorney in 2023.

A native of Portland, Ethan enjoys exploring Oregon’s many hiking trails with his wife and their three dogs.
