Katie Cooper Davis is an Associate with Pierce Davis & Perritano LLP.

Her practice primarily focuses on litigation defending cities, towns, and other public employers in Massachusetts in state and federal court against claims of civil rights violations, wrongful death, negligence, and premises liability. Ms. Davis has substantial experience handling all aspects of civil litigation and trials.

Prior to joining Pierce Davis & Perritano as an associate, Ms. Davis was an assistant city solicitor in the Civil Rights Unit at the City of Philadelphia Law Department. There, she represented the City of Philadelphia and its employees in state and federal actions involving allegations of civil rights violations. Her experience includes successfully defending the City of Philadelphia in municipal liability claims, as well as police and prison employees in claims of excessive force, malicious prosecution, false arrest, First Amendment retaliation, conspiracy, state created danger, due process violations, and illegal search and seizure.

Prior to her work at the City of Philadelphia Law Department, Ms. Davis was an assistant district attorney at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office in both the Trial and Law Divisions. Ms. Davis has experience prosecuting criminal defendants charged with attempted murder, rape, robbery, burglary, conspiracy, firearms violations, narcotics distribution, domestic violence, and child abuse. Ms. Davis also reviewed and defended homicide and rape convictions, which were on collateral appeal pursuant to Pennsylvania’s Post Conviction Relief Act.

Ms. Davis received her Juris Doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2015. Ms. Davis received her Bachelors of Arts in Government with a minor in French from Franklin & Marshall College, where she was a Posse Scholar.  Ms. Davis is also fluent in French.
